Events 2008

Many programs are offered throughout the year to encourage families to enjoy the Danada grounds. Hay and sleigh rides are often scheduled for the general public on a first come first serve basis. The programs are listed in the quarterly magazine, The DuPage Conservationist, published by the Forest Preserve District and in the Visitor Information signs at the preserve. You can also find dates and times on this Web site, under our Events Calendar .

The Danada Fall Festival of the Horse

October 12th, 2008
Once a year, in October, Danada opens the barn doors to welcome thousands of visitors during the Fall Festival. Visitors are greeted with an array of outdoor activities including hayrides, equestrian exhibits of horse breeds, demonstrations of different riding styles and training techniques, and farriers presenting their trade. Guest horses and Danada horses entertain the crowds with choreographed programs. This program is made possible thanks to a huge volunteer effort.

Come visit with local horse owners and equestrian program operations and learn about DuPage County's horse activities.

See DuPage County forest preserve's educational facilities in one place! Learn about the Dupage Forest Preserve and all the programs and opportunities offered! Willowbrook wildlife center will bring their birds of prey for viewing and interpret their wildlife preservation activities. Learn about 1800's farming techniques from Klein Creek farm as they display agricultural activities and children's games and chores from the 1800's. See how the forest preserve cares for its trees and ask about how you can better care for your yard. Fullersburg woods will bring activities for children to learn more about their environment.
