Program Schedules

Opportunities for evaluation and placement examination are offered to those applicants who wish to by-pass any programming level of horsemanship. These applicants must choose a placement examination to participate in instructional programs above Horsemanship I classes and/or trail rides. Returning students are required to take a placement exam if they have not been participating in Danada's programs for more than 10 months. Please refer to pages 17-18. All applicants should review the educational intent for the specific level of programming they are interested in pursuing. All evaluation and placement examination applicants will be required to meet or exceed the performance standards listed in the educational intent for the program they wish to participate in. These performance standards will be evaluated by completion of the following:

Written exam covering horsemanship knowledge.
Practical exam covering horse handling, grooming, saddling and bridling.
Riding exam covering basic riding skills.

Successful applicants must score a 90 percent or better on each of the three test components. The exam takes approximately one hour to complete. Evaluation and placement examinations are scheduled by appointment only.

1. You must complete a placement exam if you:

a. are applying to be a return student and have not participated in a Danada Equestrian Center riding program within the last 10 months.

b. would like to test out of a lower level class and enroll directly into a higher-level program.

c. would like to enroll directly into the trail ride program bypassing Horsemanship I or any other level.

2. Select the program for which you believe you will be eligible based on the Educational Intent/Performance Standards listed within each program level description. Click here to view program information about horsemanship lessons.

3. Complete a separate application for the Placement Exam and for the Horsemanship Program/Class in which you would like to enroll. Incomplete applications will be returned unprocessed. Click here to complete the Placement Exam Application & Wavier.

4. Please contact the Danada Equestrian Center office at (630) 668-6012, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. , Wednesday through Sunday to schedule a Placement Exam.
