2011 Horsemanship IV

-- Information and Schedules --

Horsemanship IV is open to individuals who have approval of Danada instructors or to individuals who have successfully completed the placement examination for Horsemanship IV. Students sign up for Horsemanship IV in six-week sessions, with lessons meeting once a week for one hour. Horsemanshhip IV begins to introduce classical principles of riding and exploration of riding theory. Students must be at least 12 years of age to participate. STUDENTS MUST ARRIVE EARLY TO GROOM AND TACK-UP THEIR ASSIGNED HORSE.

EDUCATIONAL INTENT

Refine ALL previous level skills, as well as develop the following skills:

• Mount unassisted from the ground.
• Perform the following arena schooling figures without cones and understand their use: four and six-loop serpentines, 20 and 30 meter circles, ride on the quarter line and centre line, and ride a proper corner.
• Ride the canter in two-point position and three-point position.
• Perform basic turns at the caner in two point and three point.
• Recognize and obtain corect canter leads.
